Magnetic Resonance Imaging Contrast Agent
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a diagnostic technique which can produce a clear and detail image from tissues or organs of human body by using a contrast agent. Nowadays, Gd-DTPA complex have been used as a safety contrast agent with low side effect. But, until now the needs of contrast agent in Indonesia is only can be satisfied with expensive imported product. The objective of this research is to synthesize modified Gd-DTPA complex and to purify it by using Dowex 50WX8 as the cation exchanger chromatography.
